QUEEN’S PARK — NDP Child Care critic Bhutila Karpoche said that while the Doug Ford Conservatives argue with the federal Liberals over signing a deal for $10-a-day child care, Ontario families are paying the price.

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario NDP Child Care critic Bhutila Karpoche said the Ford government must follow the Government of British Columbia's example and make an agreement with Ottawa to create $10-per-day-child care in Ontario.

Nearly half of child care workers have considered leaving sector
QUEEN'S PARK — The NDP's critic on Early Learning and Childcare Bhutila Karpoche released this statement in response to a survey by the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care and the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario showing child care workers at a breaking point due to neglect, overwork and poor pay, with close to 50 per cent considering leaving the sector at some point during the pandemic:

Andrea Horwath releases new long-term care plan

TORONTO — Starting in 2022, Andrea Horwath will create 50,000 new long-term care spaces, ending the wait for home care and long-term care, and within eight years will make the entire system public and not-for-profit.

QUEEN’S PARK — A bill tabled by NDP MPP Bhutila Karpoche (Parkdale—High Park) to mark July of each year as Tibetan Heritage month passed unanimously in the Ontario Legislature today.
