Anti-Oppression: June 21

This event has already taken place.

Paul Taylor Volunteer Team: Locating Ourselves
An 101 Anti-Oppression Workshop

A brief beginners anti-oppression 101 training for our campaign's volunteers. This will be a 2-hour session with facilitated independent activities, and group reflections (breaks included), hosted by Chiyi Tam.

We will spend our time mapping ourselves within broader systems of power and building some basic confidence with how to clearly explain the importance of equity and how that differs from justice. We will also briefly cover the most common pitfalls when we are in positions of privilege as it pertains to any one of those intersections. Especially as it pertains to the concepts of race, gender, sexuality, class, etc.

Live auto-generated captioning will be included. Please reach out to the team if you have any other access needs for this event.

Capacity is limited, to allow for small-group discussion and reflection.

Note: this session is identical to the one on June 17; you only need to register for one workshop.
