Convention Resolutions

What is a resolution?

Resolutions can:

  • add, amend, or delete items from Ontario NDP policy,
  • amend the Party’s Constitution, or
  • have the Party make a statement on an ongoing issue.

The current provincial policy book is available here.

Resolutions should not be more than 200 words. When submitting one, please also include:

  • your name
  • a title
  • a list of which resolutions/policies it replaces or changes (if any).

How can I submit a resolution for consideration?

Before resolutions can be submitted for consideration at the Convention in September, they must be passed by our local riding association at our general membership meeting.

If you wish to submit a resolution, it must be submitted to [email protected] no later than Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 7:00 pm. Include the word 'Resolution' in the subject line of your email submission.

What resolutions will be discussed at our local meeting on July 13?

The resolutions package is available here.

The riding association received four new resolutions for members’ consideration at the AGM on July 13, 2025. If adopted, they will be submitted for consideration at Convention 2025.

31 resolutions were approved by the Parkdale—High Park Provincial NDP at a general meeting on October 21, 2024 and submitted for consideration at Convention. As Convention was postponed, they require reaffirmation to be submitted again.

At our general meeting on July 13, 2025, the resolutions will be presented as an omnibus motion in the interest of time. Any member in good standing can request to “remove” one or more resolutions from the omnibus motion for separate discussion and vote. Members at the meeting will then vote on whether to remove the item from the omnibus motion. If the vote carries, the resolution(s) will be removed and discussed and voted on separately.
