Doug Ford and Stephen Lecce unveiled their back-to-school plan and it’s clear that the Ford government has put together the lowest-cost, bargain-basement scheme they could come up with. With crowded classrooms, not enough funding for any additional staff, and less support for high school students, this plan puts our kids health and academic success at risk.
We need an immediate action plan that includes:
- - Prepare temporary classroom spaces (Examples: libraries, previously locked classrooms, community centres)
- - Hire thousands more teachers, education workers and custodians
- - Make schools safer with touchless faucets and good HVAC systems
